Our Impact
Full Scholarship Program
Khaya Foundation is excited to introduce Geraldine Gugulethu Mpofu. She has been awarded a full scholarship to study for a BA (Hons) in Social Work at the University of Zimbabwe. Below is her personal statement:
“Being a recipient of this scholarship has truly changed my life for the better. I would have never had the opportunity to go to University, was it not for Khaya Foundation. Furthering my education will help me change the narrative of not only my life, but my family and village, as I will be the first female graduate to emerge from Sigola.
Education from University, for me means getting better equipped to make a difference in the lives of young people, as Khaya Foundation has done for me. Receiving support has given me hope for young people from poverty stricken and marginalised backgrounds, that we are not forgotten and that the best gift one can ever receive is Education. Food stuffs and clothing donations are temporary but educate a child and you forever change a life.” Gugulethu Geraldine Mpofu
School Fees Program
In collaboration with Methocare, we are working towards paying school fees for primary and secondary school children. Some of the children have not paid fees in over a year and are currently in arrears. The generous donations from our partners and sponsors will ensure that all fees and arrears are paid. Our goal as an organisation is to assist as many children as we can to attain the highest level of education possible.
